Domaine Philippe Germain - Vins rouges et blancs de la Côte de Beaune, à Nantoux en Bourgogne
It was in 1962 that Gilbert Germain founded the estate with his wife Bernadette, in the picturesque village of Nantoux, at the heart of the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune. In 1995, Philippe took over the family estate from his parents, beginning bottled sales and gradually expanding the vineyard holdings. Then in 2008, his nephew decided to join the domaine to pursue his passion for vine growing, enabling the vineyard to expand further.
Today, the estate covers 22 hectares of vines and produces an average of 120,000 bottles per year.
Nantoux lies at the crossroads of legendary villages : Meursault, Auxey-Duresses, Volnay, Pommard, Beaune… This proximity is reflected in the diversity of appellations crafted by the domaine, which reveals the full finesse of Burgundian grape varieties.
The estate produces a remarkable range of red and white wines across the following appellations: Beaune 1er Cru — including the prestigious monopole En l’Orme, les Grèves, les Tuvilains and les Pertuisots — Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Hauts Maconnets, Pommard, Pommard Les Vignots, Volnay, Monthélie, Monthélie 1er Cru, Meursault, Auxey-Duresses, Puligny-Montrachet, Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Vieilles Vignes, Bourgogne Côte d’Or, Bourgogne Aligoté, Bourgogne Passetoutgrain, Coteaux Bourguignons and Crémant de Bourgogne.
The wines are the result of meticulous work: hand harvesting, vinification carried out entirely at the estateThe vines are cultivated without herbicides, pesticides or insecticides, and using only non-carcinogenic fungicides. The estate participates in the Défi Phyto programme recognised by the Chamber of Agriculture, whose objective is to minimise treatment products in order to protect the environment. This committed environmental approach is officially recognised by the Terra Vitis and Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) certifications.
Domaine Philippe Germain moves forward with a clear guiding principle: to offer wines that are approachable in their youth, all aged in oak barrels, expressing the generosity and authenticity of Burgundian terroirs. An essential address for Burgundy wine lovers, to be discovered directly at the estate in Nantoux, on the doorstep of Pommard and Meursault.
