Nestled at the heart of the hamlet of Le Poil, in Montagny-lès-Beaune, on the doorstep of Beaune and Meursault, Domaine Paul Chapelle et ses Filles quietly and brilliantly embodies one of the best-kept secrets of the Burgundian Côte de Beaune. Founded in 1976 when Paul Chapelle inherited a plot in the prestigious Santenay 1er Cru Les Gravières, the estate gradually took shape over the years by assembling carefully chosen plots in Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault and Santenay.

Before creating his own estate, Paul Chapelle had built a solid reputation as a consulting oenologist for some of the greatest houses of the Côte de Beaune. An exceptional career path that nurtured a viticultural vision deeply respectful of terroir and traditional methods. Today, his daughters Christine and Sylvie co-manage the estate, carrying on this unique family legacy with passion and rigour.

The range of Domaine Paul Chapelle et ses Filles covers a carefully curated selection of the finest terroirs of the Côte de Beaune. In white wines: a Meursault Villages, mineral and refined; a Puligny-Montrachet Villages of remarkable purity and elegance; a Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champgains, fine and precise; and a Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Hameau de Blagny, the estate's flagship cuvée, with a depth and complexity approaching that of a Grand Cru.

In red wines: a Santenay 1er Cru Les Gravières, from old-vine Pinot Noir, elegant and structured, requiring a few years of cellaring to reveal its full complexity.

The estate's philosophy is built on a resolutely classical style, favouring terroir expression with a very restrained use of new oak, even for the finest Premiers Crus, so as never to mask the minerality and purity of the fruit.

Another remarkable hallmark of the estate: the wines are deliberately kept for several years in the cellar before being released for sale, offering enthusiasts bottles that are already fully open at the time of purchase — with cellar treasures aged ten to twenty years sometimes available directly at the property.
