Domaine Jafflin – Grower-Producer in Nuits-Saint-Georges, at the Heart of the Côte de Nuits

Located at the heart of Nuits-Saint-Georges, an iconic village of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy, Domaine Jafflin has embodied the authenticity and expertise of Burgundian winemakers for nearly a century. Founded in 1925 by the family's ancestors as a mixed farming operation, the estate developed its viticultural side in 1954 under Rémy and Juliette Jafflin, who were later succeeded by their children Albert and Anne, along with Béatrice, Albert's wife. The Passion for Wine: In 2016, Rémy, son of Albert and Béatrice, became co-manager of the estate in turn, passionately carrying on a family legacy deeply rooted in respect for the terroir and traditional methods. The estate today farms 17 hectares of vines across the Côte de Nuits.

The white wines are all made from Chardonnay, which expresses itself with full majesty on the marly limestone soils of Burgundy, while the red wines are crafted entirely from Pinot Noir, a grape variety that here captures the finest variations of the terroir in which it is planted.

The Domaine Jafflin range covers a remarkable palette of appellations in white wines: Bourgogne Côte d'Or Blanc, Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Blanc — the cuvée Mi —, and Côte de Nuits-Villages Les Monts de Boncourt Blanc. In red wines, the estate offers: Bourgogne Côte d'Or Rouge, Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Rouge — the cuvée Ré —, Côte de Nuits-Villages Les Monts de Boncourt Rouge, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Nuits-Saint-Georges Le Coteau des Bois, Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru, Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée and Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes.

Since September 2021, the estate has held the Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) certification, a recognition that reflects a viticultural approach integrating and developing biodiversity in the management of the estate, while keeping inputs to an absolute minimum.

The wines of Domaine Jafflin are distinguished by a precise and authentic style, marked by the characteristic finesse of the Côte de Nuits: the reds offer beautiful aromatic depth with notes of red fruits, gentle spices and a silky structure that gains in complexity over time, while the whites favour freshness, minerality and elegant aromas of white flowers and white-fleshed fruits.
